How this estimate works
Drying time depends mostly on the material and how saturated it is. Tile over concrete gives up water fastest, drywall and framing take longer, and hardwood, plaster and a wet slab are the slowest. Larger areas add time.
Dry summer air helps, but the drying team still keeps the house closed and lets the dehumidifiers control the air, because outside air on a May Gray morning can be wetter than the room. Equipment comes out when readings reach the drying goal, within 2 to 4 points of a dry reference, not on a fixed day. See structural drying for the full process.

Still wet after a few days of fans?
Box fans move air but do not pull moisture out of framing or a slab. The drying team brings LGR dehumidifiers and reads the materials daily.
